In 2010, in Press Release 10/2010 entitled “Mozambique must adopt better management practices for petroleum resources”, the CIP drew attention to the need for transparency around the sums paid by oil companies to the Government for capacity building purposes institutional, training and training and social funds for projects in communities affected by petroleum operations.
In May 2012, the Reconciliation Report for the year 2009 showed that, in fact, some oil companies, including Anadarko, Petronas and Sasol Petroleum Temane, paid amounts to the State for institutional capacity building purposes, and Anadarko and Statoil for the social projects fund.
