The Central Office for Combating Corruption (GCCC), in its information for the year 2017, echoed the declarations of the Attorney General of the Republic1, in the sense that there is no legal basis and no specific office specifically dedicated to recovery of assets as a result of what was observed in the previous year and which has been recurrent over the years. In 2017, according to the GCCC, a loss of about 610 million was caused to the public purse, and of the amount in question, only 17 million meticais were recovered, a property valued at 23 million meticais and five vehicles whose value was not specified.
