On October 23, 2014 the Fifth Tender for the Concession of Areas for Petroleum Exploration and Production was launched. Within the scope of this tender, a total of fifteen blocks were made available, of which 11 offshore (offshore) and 4 on land (onshore), totaling 76,800 kmtwo.
However, despite the context of the existence of an improved and robust fiscal and legal framework, the process for the fifth tender proved to be problematic from the start. In addition to successive extensions, the process continues without major advances, and after about 4 years the respective contracts have not yet been signed.
After all, what else does the Government negotiate with these companies?
