According to information circulated by some electronic press in Mozambique (16 July 2018)1, the Brazilian contractor “Odebrecht, SA” signed a leniency agreement (leniency) with the Brazilian authorities to resume its activities or business. It is known that this company is suspected of being involved in corruption cases in Mozambique, between the years 2011 and 2014, alleging that it would have paid bribes to senior Mozambican officials to win public contracts worth US$900,0002. These facts should concern the Mozambican authorities in the sense of questioning the legal value for Mozambique of the agreement signed by this Brazilian contractor.
