The Extractive Industry Transparency Initiative in Mozambique (EITIEM) has just published its 7th report. The report covers the years 2015 and 2016, covering 83 companies in 2015 (of which 60 mining and 23 oil companies) and 80 companies in 2016 (55 mining and 25 oil companies). According to the data in the report, extractive industry revenues totaled 13 billion meticais in 2015, corresponding to 8% of the State's global revenues. In 2016, revenues were only about half of those of the previous year, mainly conditioned by the fact that there were no capital gains revenues (which in 2015 represented 331TP1Q of the sector's total).
In this context, the CIP brings the main findings presented in the report and a simplified analysis of them.
