It was announced through the media that, for the first time in Mozambique, the president of a regulatory body will be selected using a public tender. At the same time, the conditions for competitors to participate were published. If, on the one hand, this procedure seeks to bring transparency to the process leading to the appointment of the chairman of the aforementioned body, on the other hand, it will be carried out through a flagrant violation of the law, specifically that which creates the regulator of the energy sector, that is, the Energy Regulatory Authority (ARENE).
