The President of the Republic, Filipe Jacinto Nyusi, announced this Friday that Mozambique still has no confirmed cases of Corona Virus, but given the seriousness of the threat, he announced new measures to reinforce the prevention of COVID-19.
This announcement was made 24 hours after the CIP issued a statement stating that the decisions then in effect were insufficient and put Mozambican families at risk. The new measures taken by the Government are in line with the recommendations made by the CIP.
The CIP salutes the Government for this decision and encourages it to mobilize and direct the existing means and resources to impose mandatory quarantine on all travelers, in a place controlled by the health authorities, given the high risk of non-compliance with home quarantine measures .
