Data presented by the National Institute of Health indicate that cases have been increasing in recent days, currently counting 129 cases, fortunately, without any deaths. To combat the pandemic, the Mozambican state adopted a series of measures aimed at minimizing the impact of COVID-19 on the National Health System.
It should be noted that one of the measures adopted by the authorities was the definition of the Program for the Management of Patients with COVID-19, approved by the government on April 13, 2020. According to that program, to patients with COVID-19 and with related symptoms for respiratory complications, a set of medications that appear on the Essential List of Medicines in use by the National Health Service are prescribed, namely: paracetamol 500mg, cough suppressants, ceftriaxone, amoxicillin 500mg, azithromycin 500mg, hydroxychloroquine, enoxaparin 40mg and corticosteroids. It turns out that some drugs listed in the Management program indicated by MISAU to alleviate the situation of patients tested positive are not available in the country's health units, as indicated by data obtained in the Utente Reporter program led by the CIP.
