Morgues representam risco de infecção pelo novo coronavírus
In this At a time when the number of deaths from COVID-19 has been growing, the management of morgues in the City and province of Maputo, and in the country in general, represent a risk of infection by the new coronavirus. The management of morgues in the country, has been criticized for a long time, for having precarious procedures and for the demonstrated inability to supply the demand. However, in the current context of the pandemic, it was expected that the government would take more assertive measures, as in many countries, with regard to the management of morgues and that the pre-existing gaps had already been remedied or minimized, since¸ for the specific case of COVID-19¸ there is a protocol to be followed approved by the World Health Organization (WHO) to avoid new infections during the handling of cadavers.

The Center for Public Integrity (CIP) carried out field studies in five morgues in the City and Province of Maputo, specifically the morgues of the Maputo Central Hospital, Mavalane General Hospital, the central morgue under the management of the Maputo Municipality and the Hospital morgue Provincial of Matola and of the Municipality of Matola.
