Several countries around the world have started the immunization campaign against the new corona virus. According to the Minister of Health, Armindo Tiago and Benigna Matsinhe, spokesperson for the ministry, Mozambique may receive in the coming months, vaccines to immunize the new corona virus through donations and funding from the OE and various international development partners.
Since January this year, there has been an accelerated and consistent rate of infections, with one of the highest positivity rates on the continent of 31.2% recorded in the first seven days of February. To date, Mozambique records a cumulative of about 599 deaths and 19,333 active cases. This situation may be related to non-compliance with prevention measures during the December 2020 festive season, exacerbated by the new strain detected in South Africa.
