Moçambique perde disputa de foro com a Privinvest no Tribunal de Recurso da Inglaterra

The Court of Appeal of England and Wales decided yesterday, Thursday 11/03/2021, that the case of hidden debts initiated by Mozambique against five companies of the Privinvest group and its owner, Iskandar Safa, should be judged in court arbitration and not by an English court. The decision is the result of the trial held on the 17th and 18th of February last in London (to read more about the trial click on this link: https://cipmoz.org/2021/03/07/julgamento-das-dividas-ocultas-em-londres-privinvest-tenta-a-todo-custo-evitar-tribunais-ingleses-e-arrastar-o-caso-para-a-arbitragem/).

Yesterday's decision, in favor of Privinvest, annuls the decision of the first instance rendered by Judge Justice Waksman, who had considered the competent English courts to judge the case of hidden debts opposing the Republic of Mozambique and companies of the Privinvest group (to read more about the decision of the first instance court click on this link: https://cipmoz.org/2020/08/23/dividas-ocultas-tribunal-de-londres-chumba-recursos-da-privinvest-inclui-iskandar-safa-como-reu-e-marca-proxima-audiencia-para-janeiro-de-2021/).
