The appointment of Bernardo Cumaio as Chairman of the Board of Directors (PCA) of the National Institute of Social Security (INSS), confirms what the Center for Public Integrity (CIP) has always said, in the sense that the discourse promoting transparency, integrity and combating corruption that has been delivered by President Filipe Nyusi is nothing more than a cosmetic action and without consequences.
On September 15, 2020, the Council of Ministers (CM) appointed Bernardo Cumaio to occupy the position of INSS PCA, replacing Francisco Mazoio. This appointment followed the same procedures as its predecessors, which is based on the presentation of a communiqué after a meeting/session of the CM, where the choice of the new holder of the position is announced.
