The Bank of Mozambique (BM) presented a proposal for a sovereign fund model for Mozambique and the CIP, as an actor concerned that revenues from the extractive sector are not a curse for the country and even that the sovereign fund model that will be defined serves to achieve the objectives for which it will be created and does not benefit only a group of Mozambicans, it presents its comments for the improvement of the proposal presented.
Considering the development fund as the priority and most relevant for Mozambique, the CIP proposes that most of the revenues from the exploitation of resources be channeled to the development fund on an increasing basis considering that the economy will have an ever greater capacity to absorb revenues.
