Mozambique has the potential to experience positive structural transformations arising from the exploitation of natural resources. Among the main arguments for this assumption is the fact that the country recorded significant discoveries, in 2010, of offshore natural gas reserves estimated at 190 tcf (trillion cubic feet) in the Rovuma basin in Cabo Delgado. However, the effective guarantee of benefits from the exploitation of these resources for the country largely depends on the adoption of good practices and concrete strategies to maximize gains in the sector.
