There is evidence of corruption in the Administrative Court (TA) involving an advising judge and an individual alleged to be his brother. In this regard, a whistleblower approached the Center for Public Integrity (CIP) presenting a series of documents, between official and private, in order to demonstrate that a sum of 500,000.00 mt (five hundred thousand meticais) was allegedly extorted for obtain a favorable decision. The author of the alleged act of extortion, according to the complainant, is named Renato Maria José Pereira Cardoso and introduced himself as the brother of Judge José Luís Maria Pereira Cardoso, who acted in the process that was processed in the 1st Chamber of the said court as rapporteur of the records.
